I was asked to make a My Little Pony inspired drawing for Sally over at ToDryFor. It was pretty much the best commission request I have ever had and you can now buy a slightly modified version of the print at my etsy shop!

Bag Design

I am designing a line of canvas bag's that should be available to buy by August or September. I would love your help with the design, what do you think? You Folks Are Ace

Since returning home last sunday I have received three of the most incredible things in the post and it has made me over the moon. I don't deserve such wonderful gifts!!

The first was a giant talking unicorn balloon courtesy of Amy Brown, Stuart Kolakovic and Rosie Miles.

The second was this beauuuutiful, or should i say ACE piece of sewing from Loulou and Oscar.
It was up on my wall within about 2 seconds of opening the parcel.

And last but not least is this wonderful unimaginably cute Polar Bear Broach and bunny friend from Em and Tom at Karma Tank.. you really have to see this guy in real life, I cannot get over how important and awesome he is.

I am having one of those procrastinating, feeling a bit unwell, can't draw anything days. In other news me and robin bought these matching sweatshirts for $1!!

Just found out that 'I Had a Nice Time' won the best Original Film Category in the Ignite Film Festival. Yeah!

Birthday Giveaway

It is my birthday tomorrow..HOORAY!! I am so so super excited and I have already been given some super awesome wizard of oz cupcakes that come with free cowardly lion rings. Best thing ever. Homesick

Started to feel homesick this week..which is good because I haven't the whole time i've been here and I was beginning to feel like a bit of a monster. This drawing was sort of inspired by that subject matter..I used to have mega insomnia as a kid and my mom used to come in and say the words in the drawing and it always made me feel safer. Granted it comes across as mildly sinister here..but that's intentional..

We Love You So

Just a quick one, I forgot to mention I was mentioned on the Spike Jonze's We Love You So blog....i have never been so super stoked. I get compared to Richard Scarry, which is pretty much the best thing ever.

Liver Good Life

I recently worked as the hand drawn and stop motion animator on the Liver Good Life campaign at Passion Pictures. Some of my handiwork can be seen in the form of sad bears, rolling boxes and firing army tanks. Also if you look very closely my face also features about halfway in. So go have a look!

This is Regret

I have started working on a storybook about breakups...at the moment the working title is 'This is Regret' and this is a rough image for it. In the end it's going to be all A2 landscape drawings (i hope) and hopefully self published and bound....only time will tell if this is wishful thinking.

Showreel 2009

My 2009 showreel has just gone on sale at my etsy shop. At the moment it is a U.S. only product as the DVD it comes with is NTSC. It comes with a 24 page full colour book and a DVD of my latest work. I only have a very small amount with me in the states so bag them up as soon as you can.

I have a whole bunch of mega bezzas travelling over from the UK in the next week so this might be my last post for a while. I can't wait to see them..the home sickness is starting to creep in a bit (hence this drawing.....which is my first attempt at an A2 drawing).

Old Friends, New Drawings

The dog parks over here are amazing, I could draw there for hours. I want a tiny little soft soft dog..here's the result of some first new york drawings. I met up with a friend today who I used to play at the beach with and haven't seen for 10 years, it was so so ace, it's like we'd never been apart from eachother.

I went to see of montreal last night in brooklyn and man so i want kevin barnes to be my husband so much it's ridiculous. In other news new york is the best place that ever happened..i didn't know it was physically possible to be this full of cake.

I am here and so so happy. The scanner arrives in wednesday so until then I can't put up any drawings i've done but here's a freaking ridiculously cute pomeranian I walked past yesterday..(I know pet stores are cruel but I couldn't help but fall in love with this little guy). Anyway if anyone is from New York and knows anywhere ace that I should go to or a good place to draw please let me know! Also if you're in new york and you want to meet up get in touch!

I Stopped the Motion

Here's a couple of blooper frames from my time working on a stop motion shoot for a new passion pictures project last week. It was long long hours so I was a little sleep deprived. The project should be finished at the end of March.

and my etsy store in the coming weeks. I am so so pleased with it!! It is one of two that will be released as a four colour screen printed teatowel.

New York New York

Just wanted to let everyone know ahead of schedule that I will be moving to New York from the 10th of April until the 10th of June and I will be reducing my etsy shop down to the bare minimum of items that I can take with me to the States...in case you wanted to buy anything in those months!

I also just wanted to mention that someone was hurt as a result of my previous post, I was not intending to pinpoint anyone in particular and I am sorry if it was interpreted that way.

Mean Swap

Today is just a general mini rant about people who take a few too many liberties with 'taking inspiration' from other people's work. There are so many illustrators out there trying to develop their own means of expression and working hard to come up with an original style and make a career out of it so when people copy people's work too closely it's unfair. I have been noticing this a lot recently, not just with my work but with other illustrators i admire too and it's not ok..you know who you are so please don't do it anymore.
